Educational programs

At St Joseph’s we are committed to keeping up with modern teaching practices and facilities and providing a quality education for your child.

We do this in a number of ways:

  • Small class sizes. We try to keep our class sizes small so the students are better engaged and receive more attention from their teacher.
  • Modern class facilities. Information technology is embededed throughout the curriculum. Each class has access to a pod of computers, an Interactive Whiteboard and digital cameras.
  • Curriculum: At St Joseph’s, each of the Key Learning Areas is covered. These are: English, Mathematics, Science, Society and Environment, Languages – Spanish, the Arts, Health and Physical Education, Design and Technology, Religious Education, Information Communication Technologies.
  • Specialist programs. We have specialist programs to help extend our students.
  • Personal growth. The development of children goes beyond the classroom. Our programs cater for the social, emotional, religious and academic needs of our children. Children have opportunities to develop leadership skills and to become aware of people within and beyond our community who have different needs.
  • Spiritual growth. All students are invited to join in a range of activities that promote their spiritual well-being. These include daily prayer in the classroom, involvement in the preparation and attendance at school and class liturgies, involvement in social justice activity days, sacramental programs and parish celebrations.
