Catholic Education South Australia

Sport is not only a key part of the St Joseph’s community – it is a key part of the student’s day at school. We have daily fitness sessions, along with a specialised Physical Education session – all designed to keep our children fit and healthy.

We also have:

  • Sport lessons: Each teacher has a regular sports lesson with a focus on development of skills, physical fitness activities and cooperation and tem building skills.
  • SAPSASA: (South Australian Primary Amateur Sports Association) Children have many opportunities throughout the year to take part in sporting activities at state level. Some of these sporting events include: swimming, athletics, football, netball.
  • Coaching Clinics: Throughout the year, children have access to sporting clinics in the areas of: rugby, cricket, football, Auskick, touch footy.
  • Combined Catholic Riverland Schools Sports Day: Each year the four Riverland Catholic schools take part in a combined Schools Sports day. This provides children with an opportunity to mix with and get to know students from the other schools, to have opportunities to compete in a range of sporting activities, and to socialise together.
